A special highlight of the symposium will be the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the determination of the first high resolution structure ever of a protein-myoglobin-this is, after all, one of the foundations of modern protein science. The scientists involved in this scientific breakthrough in the summer of 1959 will give presentations at the meeting.
